The outline rotor has increased the performance of actual Batfly thanks to the introduction of a new coupling system between rotor and carrier. • Same BATFLY geometry with directional “non round profile”. The carrier is made of ALUMINUM AL7075-T6. This allows for an optimized shape, reduced weight & higher rigidity, with introduction of a new style. • Improved rotor to hub load transfer: The classic hubrotor coupling system, the pins, are substituted with new connecting components, avoiding deformation and floating variability during product life. • The new rotor-hub coupling geometry, that allows the rotor stems to slide in radial direction, improves the response to stresses and deformations at high temperature. More homogeneous disk temperature without increasing the weight. • The feeling of the rider is improved and more direct. The new rotor-hub coupling system is more direct and the two components are in constant and direct contact. This means that the rider feels a powerful and effective brake from the beginning to the end of the braking event. • Main MXGP riders declare an improved feeling and power of the brake system using the new EPTA discs. BATFLY® REAR ROTORS • Batfly directional geometry with non round profile. • Disc material and construction process: laser cut stainless steel AISI410, heat treated + finished on CNC machines • Improvement of the brake response and modulability. The Batfly system improves the rider’s feeling and the response during the overall braking event and brings the performances at the top of the category. • Better cooling effect: the Batfly system, thanks to the special grooves on the rotor, represent a great evolution in heat dissipation, due to the area that alternatively is not covered by one of the pads. In this way, when the internal pad touches the disc the external does not and vice versa, so the heat generated on one side can be dissipated inside the “ventilation channel” created between the other side pad and the disc. • Better effectiveness of the pads. The Batfly system cleans and re-new the pad surface at each pass on the grooves, maintaining the friction coefficient of the pads at the maximum level, even in the worst environmental condition.
